11. First Time Director: The Characters Come to Life, the Drama Takes Hold

November 22, 2010

Sunday’s performance was the very best yet. Except possibly the timing of the SFX, which the actors will have noticed (since the SFX are cues for action and lines) still needs work.

Among audience comments that I heard were (of Byron) “He made ME feel cold!” and “I wanted him to put on some mittens!” so the acting made Francis and his arctic ordeal very real to them. And, (of Alexa) “Moving performance!” “Beautifully acted” and of course “What a beautiful gown!” And, to the playwright, compliments on the script.

The outlook is bright, but the stage for “Francis and Sophy” remains dark until the December 4.
